About
Verity Ure-Jones (b.1997) is a portrait and figurative painter based in London who works primarily in oil paint and pastels on wooden panel and paper.
Verity is interested in exploring themes of intimacy and ease in everyday moments. Her signature technique of focusing on line and negative space within the human form explores the subtleties between illustration and fine art painting.
Her main sources of inspiration include Austrian Secessionist artists Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt as well as Alice Neel, Toulouse-Lautrec, Kathy Kollowitz and John Singer Sergant. She studied Visual Art and Design at The Brit School and has been taking on commissions since 2023.
